At the sixth edition of the “Dolomiti Gourmetfestival”

from 11 to 13 October 2019 in Alta Pusteria, the UNESCO World Heritage Site Dolomites and its special features will play the leading role. International top chefs celebrate the highest gastronomy and hospitality around Dobbiaco and at the farm festival on the Klaude-Hof you can watch them live over their shoulder. The three-day Dolomiten Gourmet Festival from 11 to 13 October 2019 in Dobbiaco focuses on the special features of the Dolomite region and invites top international chefs to culinary exchange. Award-winning guest chefs will create fine gourmet dishes for the visitors, which can be enjoyed in the stylish setting of a gala dinner as well as at the farm festival on the Klaude-Hof. The Dolomites Gourmet Festival kicks off with a casual welcome party at which guest chefs get to know the culinary tradition of the Dolomites and the producers of regional products. “On the one hand, with the Dolomites Gourmet Festival we want to promote international exchange and introduce top chefs from all over the world to the cooking tradition and culture of the Dolomites. At the same time, visitors have the opportunity to enjoy and celebrate the culinary art of numerous renowned top chefs,” explains Chris Oberhammer, star chef at the Restaurant Tilia in Dobbiaco and organiser of the festival.

Gianni Poli – New York City Marathon Winner 1986

He lives in Dobbiaco, where he has been organising the Cortina-Dobbiaco Run since 2000 on his former training track, the “Langer Weg der Dolomiten” cycle path.

His greatest successes:

In 1980 he finished third in the Open Spanish Championship, and in 1981 he came fourth in the Fukuoka Marathon with a national record of 2:11:19. In 1983 he again finished third in the Open Spanish Championship and improved his national record to 2:11:05 in seventh place at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki. He finished sixth in the Chicago Marathon. In 1984 he became Italian Champion. The following year he finished fourth in Chicago and was the first Italian to remain under the 2:10 h barrier with 2:09:57. 1986 he won the famous New York City Marathon. In 1987 he was fourth in the London Marathon. After finishing seventh in the 1988 Los Angeles Marathon and fifth in the Boston Marathon, he was nominated for the Olympic Games in Seoul, where he finished 19th. At the end of the season, he won the Honolulu Marathon. In 1989 he won bronze at the IAAF World Cup Marathon and in 1990 silver at the European Championships in Split.
